CinemOntase started up on august 2018 with screening two films from Indonesia & Iran. The idea had come when a group of filmmaker from montase film community were watching film at CGV cinemas when they realized a film studio of independent filmmakers was left for quite long time.
Mohammad Mozafari the Iranian filmmaker and also director of CinemOntase Festival worked on running this event with group of young team on august 2018. The film 05:55 from Indonesia directed by Tiara Kristiningtyas and Heaven of Children from Iran directed by Amir Masoud Soheili was screened on the opening day of the festival. Cinemontase has ran successfully 5th edition with screening top short films both local and international. This program focuses on film distribution to guide independent filmmakers on how to distribute their films. Only film with award can select and screen at the event. The director or any representative from the film attend the screening to answer audience’s questions. Recently the director of CinemOntase Mohammad Mozafari is bringing films from his origin Iran to screen at the event. Directors from Iran will be asked to make a video to their audience to be watched after the screening. The Iranian films attracting many audience to join this festival due to the Iranian great achievements in film industry.
The coming events are on 23rd February with film Online Shopping from Iran directed by Ghasideh Golmakani and Nyumbang from Indonesia directed by Rahma Nurlinda Sari. On March 30th with film Hearing from Iran directed by Saeed Rezaie and documentary short Paintings of War: Agression in the Eyes of Children directed by Agustinus Dwi Nugroho.
CinemOntase event regularly run every month with two films and calling filmmakers around the world to submit their stories to the festival.
