Warga Pulau Bangka patut berbangga karena salah satu putranya berhasil meraih penghargaan tinggi di salah satu festival film di Italia. Film pendek Ngelimbang karya Rian Apriansyah, berhasil memenangkan kategori film pendek terbaik di Life After Oil International Film Festival 2017 menyisihkan pesaing-pesaingnya yang berasal dari banyak negara. Festival ini adalah festival film lingkungan bertaraf internasional yang sudah berlangsung sejak empat tahun lalu. Para juri memenangkan film Ngelimbang karena dianggap mampu menyajikan realita eksplorasi penambangan timah yang ada di Pulau Bangka.
Film yang berdurasi 16 menit dan nyaris tanpa dialog ini berkisah tentang seorang bocah sekolah dasar yang mencari uang dengan menambang timah atau “ngelimbang” hanya untuk membeli handphone agar tidak diejek rekan-rekannya. Film produksi tahun 2015 ini sebenarnya telah berjaya di ajang lokal dan mendapat apreasiasi tinggi di belasan festival luar negeri. Dalam ajang festival film berskala nasional, Ngelimbang telah meraih film terbaik di banyak festival film kampus, seperti di UI Film Festival 2016 (Universitas Indonesia), UII Scream Film Festival 2016 (Universitas Islam Indonesia), 2th Jogja Film Academy Short Film Competition 2016, serta Festival Film Indonesia Berkemajuan 2016. Film ini juga sukses masuk nominasi film pendek terbaik dalam ajang NUFF International Film Festival 2016 (Norwegia) lalu Green International Film Festival 2016 (Korea Selatan), serta masuk seleksi dan di-screening di belasan festival film internasional, baik di wilayah Eropa dan Asia. Semoga potensi anak bangsa berprestasi tinggi seperti ini bisa didukung pemerintah agar bisa berkarya lebih baik lagi di masa datang.
Ngelimbang Won the Best Shorts at 4th Life After Oil Film Festival at Italy
Bangka Island residents are proud of Rian Apriansyah for wining a high award at one of the film festivals in Italy. Short film by Rian Apriansyah, successfully won the best short film category in Life After Oil International Film Festival 2017 set aside competitors from many countries. This festival is an international environmental film festival that has been going on since four years ago. The jury won the film Ngelimbang because it is considered able to present the exploration realities of tin mining in Bangka Island.
The 16-minutes, almost non-dialogue movie tells about an elementary school boy who is making money by traditional tin mining or “ngelimbang” just to buy a mobile phone to avoid being teased by his classmates. Film production in 2015 has actually won in local arena and get high appreciation in dozens of foreign festivals. In the event of a national film festival, Ngelimbang has won the best films in many campus film festivals, such as the UI Film Festival 2016 (Universitas Indonesia), UII Scream Film Festival 2016 (Universitas Islam Indonesia), 2th Jogja Film Academy Short Film Competition 2016 Film Festival Indonesia Berkemajuan 2016. This film also successfully entered the best short film nomination in the NUFF International Film Festival 2016 (Norway) and Green International Film Festival 2016 (South Korea), and entered the selection and screening in dozens of international film festivals, both in Europe and Asia. Hopefully the potential of this nation of high achievers can be supported by the government in order to be able to work better in the future.
