Film ini menyajikan rutinitas harian TPA ini sejak matahari terbit hingga terbenam. Masalah sosial dan lingkungan tampak jelas terlihat, di mana TPA ini sebenarnya telah melewati kapasitasnya. Namun, terlepas itu semua terdapat keindahan yang tak terelakkan dari lokasinya yang ada di wilayah perbukitan.
Piyungan Landfill is the largest landfill in Yogyakarta Province, Indonesia. This film depicts daily activities in this place from dawn to dusk. Many social and environmental dimensions were seen at this location, which actually has exceeded its capacity. Behind all that, there is an inevitable beauty in its location on the hills.

Dengan jumlah populasi lebih dari 260 juga penduduk, Indonesia kini menjadi salah satu produsen sampah terbesar di dunia. Sebagian besar fasilitas penampungan sampah (TPA) di negara ini tidak memiliki fasilitas dan infrastruktur yang memadai. Salah satu TPA terunik berlokasi di Piyungan, Yogyakarta. TPA Piyungan sudah beroperasi sejak tahun 1996 dan seharusnya sudah selesai beroperasi pada 2016. Namun, hingga kini masih saja beroperasi. Ketinggian sampah dari dasar tanah telah melewati tinggi gedung berlantai 20. Hingga kini, tidak ada tanda-tanda TPA ini bakal ditutup.
With over 260 million population, Indonesia has become one of the largest waste-producing countries in the world. Most of the waste is piled on landfills that do not have proper facilities and infrastructure. One of the unique landfills is located in Yogyakarta Province, Java. Piyungan landfill has been operating since 1995, and it has to be stopped use in 2016, but until now, it is still in use. The height of the garbage dump from the ground has reached more than a 20 floors building. There is no sign that this landfill will be closed anytime soon
Himawan Pratista adalah seorang kritikus film yang juga pembuat film independen, penulis naskah, editor serta pengajar film di akademi film di Kota Yogyakarta. Ia mengajar film sejak tahun 2003 serta pula menulis beberapa buku teori film. Pada tahun 2006, ia adalah satu dari pendiri Komunitas Film Montase yang meraih predikat Komunitas Film Terbaik di Indonesia dalam ajang Apresiasi Film Indonesia tahun 2015. Film-film yang diproduksinya adalah bertema lingkungan dan budaya lokal. Ia selalu terlibat dalam produksi film pendek Montase dan sebagian besar di antaranya meraih prestasi, baik lokal maupun internasional. Ia secara reguler menulis kririk film di website montasefilm.com.
Himawan Pratista is a film critic who is also an independent director, scriptwriter, editor, and lecturer at the film academy in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He has been teaching film since 2003-2019 and also has written several books about film. Memahami Film (Understanding Film) is his famous book in the country. In 2006, he was one of the founders of Montase Film Community, that has won the best film community award in 2015 (montase.org). He was involved in all Montase production shorts, and most of the films have achieved excellent results, both local and international film festivals. Most of the works he produces are on the environment and local culture theme. He also writes critics regularly at montasefilm.com (Indonesian & English).
